PROTOLON(IQ) is a flexible medium voltage reeling cable concept for gantry cranes, automated stacking cranes, ship loaders, mobile mining machines and other large travelling equipment exposed to high or extreme mechanical loads. Its engineering difference is not only a stronger rubber sheath or a more flexible conductor. The cable combines class FS very finely stranded tinned copper, EPR-based medium voltage field control, PROTOFIRM sandwich sheathing, polyester anti-torsion reinforcement and a special single-mode sensor fiber into one reelable cross-section. This allows the cable itself to become a monitored mechanical and thermal component, supporting predictive maintenance instead of relying only on visual inspection after damage has already started.
