The South African National Standard (SANS) 1520 is a critical regulatory framework issued by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) that governs the construction, materials, dimensions, and electrical properties of flexible electric trailing cables designed specifically for dynamic mining equipment operations. This standard ensures that cables deployed in South Africa's demanding mining environments meet stringent safety, durability, and performance requirements.
