Why is NSSHÖU considered the “workhorse” of VDE 0250 cables for low-voltage heavy-duty connections?
In the hierarchy of German VDE standards, while high-voltage reeling cables like (N)TSCGEWÖU handle the massive power distribution, the NSSHÖU series (defined by DIN VDE 0250 Part 812) performs the grueling, daily operational tasks. It is termed the “workhorse” because it bridges the gap between standard rubber cables (like H07RN-F) and specialized mining cables. It offers superior mechanical strength, robust abrasion resistance, and chemical stability for dynamic applications in mines, drilling rigs, and heavy industry.
