BS 7919:2001 was a British Standard for flexible cables rated up to 450/750 V, intended for appliances and equipment in industrial and similar environments. BSI records it as withdrawn on 1 December 2012. The phrase “BS 7919 series” is now best understood as a legacy search term that must be translated into a current construction-specific standard.

This distinction is important when a buyer requests an H07RN-F, H07BB-F, H07BQ-F, H07BN4-F, H07ZZ-F or older PVC cable “to BS 7919”. The same historic reference can point to different insulation materials, sheath compounds, voltage classes, temperature limits and environmental requirements. A technically correct replacement may therefore be compliant with a current BS EN 50525 part or BS 6004 rather than carrying BS 7919 as its primary claim.

Withdrawn

BS 7919:2001 is recorded by BSI as withdrawn on 1 December 2012.

450/750 V

Historic umbrella voltage boundary; it does not identify insulation or mechanical duty.

Multiple routes

Current replacement depends on PVC, elastomer, TPU, silicone or LSZH construction.

Own drawing

A modern equivalent needs independent dimensions, tests, marking and traceability.

Primary source. The BSI record for BS 7919:2001 gives the original title and withdrawn status.
